Barencia is a compact group : Xavi Torres, one of the most promising Catalan pianists in European jazz, joins the Florentine drummer Bernardo Guerra, known for his ongoing collaborations with Stefano Bollani, and the young double bass player Michelangelo Scandroglio, an emerging talent on the Italian scene. The compositions of the leaders, Torres and Scandroglio, seem to draw in the dancing Marina Paje. Marina Paje is a brave, creative and original dancer, which certainly takes the group to another level and set them apart from any other of its kind.
